Founding Director and Clinical Psychologist, Dr Kara Granger, understands life fulfilment comes from having a sense of purpose, strong identity and meaningful connections to others and yourself. She genuinely believes that psychologists can help people to build the insight, skills and strengths they need to overcome their concerns, build their sense of identity, create purpose, develop positive connections and reach their goals to live a more meaningful and fulfilled life. This premise and beliefs are why Dr Kara Granger called her practice HGC PSYCHOLOGY – heal, grow, connect – and over the past 20 years has helped clients achieve these three vital aspects and essentially achieve their own excellence.
HGC PSYCHOLOGY is based in Bacchus Marsh and is founded in a strong adherence to the practice’s values and professional and ethical guidelines as outlined by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and Psychology Board of Australia (PBA). All psychologists at HGC PSYCHOLOGY are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and are highly trained professionals. We believe it is important to draw upon evidence-based practices and work collaboratively with each client to tailor our services to meet each individual’s specific needs, goals and strengths. It was designed specifically to symbolise the vulnerable courage of proudly embracing imperfections whilst capturing the beautiful lotus flower and its journey. Have you ever wondered why lotus flowers are so popular? The lotus flower is a cherished symbol across many cultures and is said to represent enlightenment, purity, rebirth and triumph. The lotus flower starts out rooted deep in muddy water. In time with the right conditions, it must make its way through the dirty water. It finally breaks the surface and blooms, producing the most beautiful flower. When the sun goes down, the lotus flower then retreats back to its muddy sanctuary. Because of the protective layer covering its petals, its beauty is unaffected when it re-blooms again each sunrise. The lotus flower also shows a strong will to live, not only can it live in the dirtiest of waters, but it can also withstand years without water. So even from the muddiest of waters, the lotus flower produces the most beautiful flower and continues to resurrect itself, refusing to be defeated, coming back just as beautiful every single time.
